Don’t Mix Your Visitors Up…

Often times I see people creating content sites and putting Adsense, Amazon, and a ton of other different affiliate links on their sites all together. This is NOT the way to create content sites.

First, a good content site that will do well in the search engines consists of original content built around a small niche. You don’t have to build huge content sites. A site built around a small niche will kill a huge site built on every niche any day of the week.

So when you start building your content sites, the first thing you need to do is pick your niche, and then decide how you want to monetize your site.

And this will depend on what you can make the most money from for that niche…

For instance… A niche on carpet would probably be best as an Adsense site because most people don’t buy carpet online. They just get their info and then go to the store.

You always want to think about which one you can make the most money on, and use it, but you don’t want to mix ways to monetize your sites up because it could make you lose money…

How?

Say I create a site on carpet and I have affiliate and Adsense ads on my site. I get 100 visitors to my site, and 10 of them click on my ads. 5 click on my Adsense ads, and I make .50. 5 click on my affiliate ads for carpet and I make $150 dollars. With those stats that means that for every 5 visitors I sent to my carpet affiliate program, I would make $150. That means those 5 people that made me .50 through Adsense actually cost me $149.50

Now the above is only an example, and those figures are totally made up, but I wanted to show you why you build sites to monetize only one affiliate program be it Adsense, affiliate products, Yahoo publisher ads, or whatever else.

I like Adsense the best because I don’t have to worry about building a site, putting affiliate links on it only for the site selling the products to stop selling it, or not pay me. Google always pays, and it’s basically a set it and forget it type thing.

You need to make your own choices though and do your own research. Test what makes you more money, and you’ll be able to do nothing but build sites, and collect checks for what you put on them!
