If you want to sell products from your website, whether they are digital products or tangible products, you will need to be able to accept payments online. There are several ways to do this.
The easiest way to get started is by setting up a PayPal account at www.paypal.com. Chances are you probably have one of these types of accounts already. PayPal allows you to send and receive money from anyone with an email account. There are some limitations though, as PayPal is not available in every country of the world.
When you are ready to get a bit more technical, you can use a service such as www.authorize.net. Authorize.net will allow you to receive payments from anyone with a major credit card. You will need to contact a reseller, which you can find on the website, and set up a merchant bank account before you can use this service.
To find other services that will allow you to accept credit cards online, you can perform a Google search. Before you sign up with any of these services, make sure that they can integrate with your shopping cart system.
Once you have set up your account with your chosen service, you need to integrate into your shopping cart.
Simply follow the instructions. You will need to choose which system you are using (such as authorize.net) from a drop down menu. You also have the option of selecting PayPal as your method of choice.
You can also enter in various pieces of information, such as the name that will appear on the customer’s credit card, the page you want your customer redirected to after purchase, a thank you message, etc.
Truly, the easiest way to get setup online is to either get a PayPal.com or a 2Checkout.com account and use the LFMScript.com to run your entire site. It’s super easy and it’s exactly what I do.
Hope this helps…
